Wild Lives Forest School, Little Wild Ones, Warley Woods, Thursdays 10:30-12pm
Details
For these sessions we are working as a support to the brilliant Wild Lives Forest School in Warley Woods.
For your youngest explorers and their grown ups, this programme of weekly sessions is all about child-led play and adventuring! We will be making mud pies & potions, swinging in the hammock, balancing on the fallen logs, and exploring the woodland and the creatures that live there. Sessions include stories and activities designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. We support children to begin to develop a connection to the natural world by experiencing it as a joyful place to play - somewhere that they will grow to love and want to protect. There will be the chance to use some simple tools and to cook on a campfire during the programme.
We encourage adults to join in the play and take some time to connect with other local parents/carers and enjoy the benefits of spending some time together outdoors in nature.
These sessions will take place on our beech tree site in the beautiful woodland of Warley Woods.

FREE Heritage Lottery funded programme - ROOTS at Birmingham Settlement Forest School, Edgbaston Reservoir.
Our new forest school programme embraces the simple curiosities of childhood, we dig, we explore, we imagine, we laugh, we grow.
ROOTS, is a child led forest school session located at Birmingham Settlement's Red Shed site; a beautiful, green space tucked away in the heart of Brum. Our open ended sessions are a holistic blend of exploratory play and growing and gardening projects aimed at children aged 2 to 5 years and their grown ups. Our Forest School site benefits from a small woodland space to jump and climb in, next to a wonderfully maintained veggie patch and polytunnel and we welcome you to play and grow with us. Let's get little fingers in the dirt and seeds in the ground.
We'll make paint from blackberries, fly on sticks, mix up marvellously muddy creations in the mud kitchen and we'll learn to nurture and grow new things from sunflowers to tomato plants. You'll be able to return each week to see how tall they've grown!
Come and join us on Mondays from 10:30am-12pm for play, craft and the freedom to roam and explore with a campfire to finish.
Who are sessions aimed at?
Little ones aged 2-5 years and their grown ups.
Let's get those little roots planted; new friendships, happy heads, happy hearts.
